Chhattisgarh: Newly-appointed Governor-designate arrives at Raipur airport

Raipur: The new Governor of Chhattisgarh, Biswabhusan Harichandan, arrived at the Swami Vivekananda Airport, Raipur this morning. Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel accorded a warm welcome to him with a floral bouquet at the new State Hangar located within the airport premises. The Governor also received a Guard of Honor on the occasion. Chhattisgarh High Court Chief Justice Arup Kumar Goswami, will administer the oath of office to the new Governor at the Raj Bhavan at 11:30 am on February 23.

Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr. Charandas Mahant, Leader of Opposition Narayan Chandel, School Education Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam, Chhattisgarh Housing Board Chairman Kuldeep Juneja, Raipur Mayor Aijaz Dhebar along with other public representatives, as well as Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, DGP Ashok Juneja, and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.

Governor Harichandan’s experience will benefit Chhattisgarh, says CM
After welcoming the Governor, Shri Biswabhusan Harichandan, at the State Hangar, chief minister Bhupesh Baghel told media persons that the newly-appointed Governor is an experienced politician. He has been a five-time MLA, held several ministerial portfolios, and has also served as the Governor. Chhattisgarh will benefit from his experience.
