Chhattisgarh makes significant progress towards tendu leaf collection target for the current year, 3.19 lakh standard bags collected so far

Raipur: Chhattisgarh is making significant progress towards achieving its target of tendu leaf collection this year, having already collected nearly 3.19 lakh standard bags of Tendu leaves (Tendupatta) so far. Tendu leaf collection has reached over 80 per cent of its target in the Dantewada and Jagdalpur forest divisions. The goal is to collect 16.72 lakh standard bags of tendu leaves by the end of this year. The collection work is being carried out continuously under the guidance of Forest Minister Shri Mohammad Akbar.
Principal Chief Conservator of Forests V Srinivas Rao stated that necessary arrangements have been made in all forest divisions under the direction of the Principal Secretary Forest Manoj Pingua, to ensure efficient tendu leaf collection work in the state. The collection of tendu leaves has already been completed at more than 80 per cent of the target in the Dantewada and Jagdalpur forest divisions.
As per information provided by Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce Association Managing Director Anil Rai, a total of 5,008 standard bags of tendu leaves have been collected in the Bijapur forest division and 45,797 standard bags in the Sukma forest division. Similarly, the Dantewada forest division has collected, Jagdalpur has collected 15,204 standard bags, South Kondagaon has collected 13,404 standard bags, and Keshkal has collected 17,179 standard bags. The Narayanpur forest division has collected 7,230 standard bags, East Bhanupratappur has collected 367 standard bags, and Kanker has collected 6,049 standard bags.
Similarly, in the Rajnandgaon forest division, 2,646 standard bags of tendu leaves have been collected, and in Khairagarh, 1,387 standard bags have been collected. About 5,453 standard bags have been collected in the Dhamtari forest division, 45,923 standard bags in Gariyaband, 35,833 standard bags in Mahasamund, and 7,136 standard bags in Baloda Bazar. The Bilaspur forest division has collected 295 standard bags, Janjgir-Champa has collected 2,532 standard bags, Raigarh has collected 20,148 standard bags, Dharamjaigarh has collected 31,378 standard bags, Korba has collected 9,848 standard bags, and Katghora has collected 3,155 standard bags of tendu leaves. Similarly, the Jashpur forest division has collected 10,377 standard bags, and in Surguja, 153 standard bags of tendu leaves have been collected.
