Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly commences Budget Session with Governor’s address

\Focus on elimination of Maoism, Law and Order and Industrialization
Raipur: The budget session of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly kicked off on Monday with Governor Bishwabhushan Harichandan delivering the customary address. In his speech, the Governor emphasized the government’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and addressing the Maoist-terrorist threat in Chhattisgarh.

The Governor highlighted transparency and accountability, citing the initiation of a CBI investigation into recruitment irregularities within the State Public Service Commission. Additionally, plans were outlined to boost economic growth by leveraging the state’s resources and creating a favorable investment climate.
Acknowledging the dedication of police personnel, the government announced a weekly off for officers from constable to inspector levels in field areas. In Maoist-affected regions, district police force personnel will receive an eight-day leave once every three months instead of the weekly off.
To enhance the police force’s capabilities, modern weapons and communication tools will be provided, and a Rs 201 crore project will swiftly develop police infrastructure in Maoist-affected areas. The government remains steadfast in establishing the rule of law and prioritizing essential amenities, education, and healthcare in Maoist-affected regions.
The government is committed to accelerating industrial, commercial, and professional activities by utilizing state resources wisely. Balancing revenue growth with employment generation across sectors is a key objective, aiming for comprehensive development and individual empowerment.
Creating an ideal investment environment, ensuring legal protection for investors, and prioritizing public welfare are top priorities for the government. The Governor underlined the commitment to good governance, drawing inspiration from leaders like Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Narendra Modi.
The government’s focus includes eradicating sickle cell anemia through free medication, transparent procurement of paddy from farmers, and comprehensive development of Scheduled Tribes. Initiatives like PM-JANMAN aim to provide essential facilities to vulnerable tribal groups, addressing various aspects of their lives.
Livelihood enhancement for forest dwellers, housing development, and clean water supply through the ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’ are key components of the government’s agenda. The commitment to grassroots governance, cultural and tourism development, environmental conservation, and youth development further reflect the comprehensive vision of the Chhattisgarh State government.
Infrastructure development is a cornerstone, encompassing roads, irrigation, drinking water, electricity, healthcare, and transparent public services. The government’s commitment to Antyodaya and sustainable development goals is evident in its use of modern tools for reliable data and evaluation.
