
Raipur: The budget session of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly will commence on February 24 and continue until March 21, with a total of 17 sittings scheduled. Speaker Dr. Raman Singh announced this during a press conference on Sunday.
Key Highlights of the Session:
- Budget Presentation: Finance Minister OP Choudhary will present the state budget on March 3.
- Legislative Questions: A total of 2,367 questions have been submitted by MLAs, including 1,230 starred and 1,147 unstarred questions.
- Governor’s Address & Tribute: The session will begin with an address by the Governor, followed by a tribute to former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
- MLA Training Programs: All assembly members will undergo a two-day training program at IIM, and there is a proposal to send a delegation of legislators to London and Singapore for further training.
Speaker Dr. Raman Singh emphasized the importance of constructive discussions and urged the opposition to actively participate in the proceedings.
