Naya Raipur, December 8, 2025 — Chhattisgarh Gramin Bank (CGB) conducted an extensive Cyber Security Awareness & Fraud Prevention Workshop for its Head Office staff in Naya Raipur. The workshop saw the participation of around 55 employees, including Chairman Vinod Kumar Arora, NABARD GM, senior officials, and officers from multiple departments. The initiative aimed to enhance internal cyber preparedness and equip staff with essential skills to safeguard customers amid rising digital fraud incidents.

The session was led by CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®, NCFE Empanelled Financial Education Trainer, and Cyber Security & Financial Fraud Awareness Expert Vikas Gupta. Key learning areas included the latest cyberattack and fraud trends, identification of phishing–vishing–smishing attempts, malware risks, legal provisions under the IPC & IT Act, and real-life fraud case studies.

A major highlight of the workshop was an innovative and practical four-layer security system for managing hundreds of User IDs and Passwords — a universally relevant solution highly appreciated by the participants. The workshop also focused on fraud reporting procedures, understanding scam psychology, safe digital practices, common mistakes to avoid, and specialized measures to prevent high-value financial frauds. Emerging threats such as Share Market Trading & Cryptocurrency scams, High-Return Investment frauds, and the increasingly common Digital Arrest scam were covered in detail, along with tools to identify and prevent such frauds.

The session received strong appreciation from senior leadership. Chairman Vinod Kumar Arora praised the unique password management system and acknowledged the valuable, practical insights shared to help protect both bankers and customers from cyber fraud. The NABARD GM emphasized conducting similar training programs across more branches and departments to strengthen the bank’s cyber-secure culture.
