Chhattisgarh govt boosts scholarships for junior doctors

Raipur: In a momentous decision, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has taken a significant step towards supporting medical professionals by increasing scholarships for junior doctors in Chhattisgarh. Through a tweet, the Chief Minister revealed the government’s decision to raise the stipends for junior doctors in accordance with new rates.
The Chhattisgarh government’s progressive approach towards medical education is evident as the stipends for Postgraduate (PG) studies have witnessed remarkable increments. For the first year of PG, the stipend has been raised from Rs 53,550 to Rs 67,500 per month, signifying a substantial increase in financial support for aspiring doctors.
Likewise, the second-year PG scholars will now receive a monthly stipend of Rs 71,450, up from the previous Rs 56,700, while the third-year PG scholars will be granted a stipend of Rs 74,600 per month, elevated from Rs 59,200. Recognizing the invaluable contribution of MBBS interns, the Chhattisgarh government has raised their monthly stipend from Rs 12,600 to Rs 15,900, offering greater encouragement to young medical talents.
This decision by the state government paves the way for a substantial increase in scholarships for junior doctors, ranging from Rs 3,000 to Rs 15,000 per month, thereby alleviating financial burdens and fostering a favorable environment for medical education in the region.
