Chhattisgarh govt takes a step ahead in promoting animal husbandry and dairy business, CM directs to formulate an action plan for consumption of milk produced in Gauthans

Raipur: Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel has directed the officials concerned to formulate an action plan to ensure that the milk produced in the Gauthans is consumed in the villages and to ensure proper arrangements for fodder for the cattle. He said that just like farmers getting benefited from the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, similarly, due to the consumption of milk produced in dairies operating in Gauthans and the arrangement for animal feed, the cattle owners will also be benefitted and will be encouraged towards animal husbandry. He said that arrangements should be made to provide boiled milk to the children under the mid-day meal programme in the Anganwadi centres and schools of the villages with the help of the district administration. With this, the cattle farmers will get a fair price for the milk. Rural milkmen will be encouraged to take up animal husbandry. The nutritional level will be improved by increasing the availability of milk in rural areas. Baghel instructed the chief secretary to formulate an action plan for this.He was addressing a virtual programme organized for the distribution of funds to the beneficiaries of Godhan Nyay Yojana and the beneficiaries of the State Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme at his residence office here today. In the program, the Chief Minister released an amount of Rs 10 Crores 84 Lakhs. Out of this amount, Rs 3.69 crore was paid to the Gauthans of the state from June 15 to June 30 in lieu of cow dung purchased from cattle-rearing villagers, and landless farmers. 4.31 Crore to Gauthan committees and 2.84 crores to women’s groups. Similarly, under the State Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme, he paid a grant amount of Rs 13.63 lakh to 25 beneficiaries. Addressing the program, agriculture minister Ravindra Choubey said that decision that has been taken in today’s cabinet meeting for providing a 50 per cent concession in electricity bills to Gauthans and Rural Industrial Parks; an incentive to the SHGs and Primary Co-operative Societies associated with the sale of compost by Gauthans; a bonus for the annual sales of compost; all these steps will encourage to establish new industrial units in the Gauthans.Cabinet ministers including Tamradhwaj Sahu, T.S. Singh Deo, Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam, Forest Mohammad Akbar, Kawasi Lakhma, Dr. Shiv Kumar Dahariya, Anila Bhediya, Jai Singh Agrawal, Guru Rudra Kumar, Umesh Patel and Amarjeet Singh Bhagat along with other senior officials were present on the occasion.
