Chhattisgarh: Finance dept issues orders for the implementation of employee-friendly announcements made by CM

Raipur: The Finance Department issued orders for increased dearness allowance (DA) and house rent allowance (HRA) for government employees, in consonance with Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s promises made during the monsoon session of the legislative assembly. The department also issued orders for a salary increase for contract employees and a raise in the DA for pensioners.
The Finance Department has issued an order for a 4 percent increase in the DA of state government employees, bringing it to 42 percent under the seventh pay scale effective from July 1, 2023. Similarly, the department has issued an order for employees under the sixth pay scale to increase the DA by 9 per cent, bringing it to 221 percent effective from July 1, 2023.
The Finance Department has approved revised HRA hike for state government employees based on the seventh pay scale. B-2 category cities, which include Raipur, Durg, and Bhilai Nagar, will receive a 9 per cent HRA, while C category cities, which include Bilaspur, Korba, Rajnandgaon, Jagdalpur, Raigarh Chirmiri, Dallirajhara, Ambikapur, Dhamtari, Bhatapara, and Janjgir Champa, will receive a 6 per cent HRA. Employees working in areas other than those mentioned above will receive 6 percent, and the employees in the state government office in Delhi will receive a 27 per cent HRA. The salary hike will be effective from the date notified by the state government’s orders.
Contract employees working in various posts will receive a 27 per cent hike in salary
The state government announced a 27 per cent increase in salary for contract employees working in various posts, effective from July 1, 2023. The new pay structure for contract employees at pay metric levels 1 to 16 ranges from Rs 14,400 to Rs 1,19,715.
State government approves DA hike for pensioners
Chhattisgarh Government has introduced a revised DA for pensioners. Those under the 7th pay scale will receive 38 per cent DA, while the 6th pay scale pensioners will receive 212 per cent DA. These hikes will be effective from July 1, 2023.
