Villagers performed ‘Danda Nacha’ to welcome Chief Minister

Raipur: Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel was accorded a warm welcome by public representatives, officers-employees, and a large number of villagers on his arrival at village Pipariya of Pali-Tanakhar assembly constituency. Villagers of Amjhar welcomed the Chief Minister with ‘Danda Nacha’ performance at the helipad.

Chief minister was enthralled by this mesmerizing traditional dance performance. Chief minister expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards all the people present there for the warm welcome. Meanwhile, ‘Danda Nacha’ is a folk dance form performed by the Gond tribe on the joyous occasion and the Goura Gouri festival. Besides, this dance is a distinctive feature of the tribal culture and is also performed by the tribe members on the occasion of harvest and other festivals.

Pali Tanakhar MLA Mohit Ram Kerketta, Janpad Member Bhola Goswami, Katghora Nagar Palika President Ratan Mittal, and a large number of villagers were present on the occasion.

On behalf of the administration, the Chief Minister was welcomed by Inspector General of Police Badri Narayan Meena, Collector Sanjeev Jha, Superintendent of Police Santosh Singh, Zila Panchayat CEO Nutan Kanwar, DFO Korba Arvind PM and other senior officers.
