Vice-Chancellor Prof. Chakrawal Meets Hon’ble Governor Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan.

Bilaspur. On August 18, 2022, Professor Alok Kumar Chakrawal, Vice-Chancellor of Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya (Central University), met with Hon’ble Governor of Chhattisgarh, Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan. On this occasion, the Vice-Chancellor presented her with a copy of his edited book Birsa Munda – Tribal Pride.

The Vice-Chancellor provided the Governor with an in-depth overview of Guru Ghasidas Central University’s academic, research, and innovation initiatives. He stated that a proposal for Rs 64.57 crores has been sent to the government to establish the Center for Integrated Community Empowerment and Sustainable Development through Training of Scheduled Tribes in Chhattisgarh for tribal students. The centre would provide free residential facilities and particular instruction to tribal students studying for various competitive examinations such as UPSC, financial services, Group A, B, and C level of state and federal government, and other occupations accessible in the private sector.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Chakrawal gave detailed information about the ‘Svavalambi Chhattisgarh’, the innovative initiative was taken by the Central University to make the youth of Chhattisgarh self-reliant in various fields including entrepreneurship and skill development. In line with the National Education Policy-2020, this ambitious project was started with the concept of “Education, even after education” to provide awareness for employment along with value-based and experiential education and skill development with employment. For this, a portal has also been started on which companies and students have started registration.

Professor Chakrawal reiterated that the youth of Chhattisgarh state has immense potential. Under this resolution, the student will feel burdened by any concern during the study period. Moreover, they will be endowed with self-reliance, courage and intelligence skills to meet future challenges. To realise the vision of self-reliant Chhattisgarh, necessary changes are being made in the courses being run in the university in consultation with the Central Universities CII, FICCI, ASSOCHAM, District Industries Centre, District Industries Association, CA, CS, ICWA, MSMEs and the reputed entrepreneurs of the state, according to the needs of the industries and prospective employers.

The Vice-Chancellor gave detailed information to the Hon’ble Governor on the efforts to implement the National Education Policy-2020 in the university. He also provided information about the infrastructure development works of the university.
