Threat Case Against Shah Rukh Related to Bishnoi Community, Raipur Lawyer Claims Offense Due to Deer-Hunting Dialogue in Film

Raipur
A death threat was sent to Shah Rukh Khan using the lost mobile phone of Raipur-based lawyer Faizan. The lawyer claims this is a conspiracy against him.
In a new twist in the death threat case against Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, the person questioned by Mumbai police in Raipur alleged that he is being framed for filing a complaint against Shah Rukh Khan regarding a deer-related matter.
Advocate Mohammad Faizan Khan (42) stated that Shah Rukh Khan hurt the sentiments of the Bishnoi community in one of his films. In the film, a dialogue suggested cooking and eating deer, which is deeply offensive to the community and potentially inciting unrest. Faizan had demanded action from the Rajasthan and Mumbai police, and he believes this led to a conspiracy against him.
Faizan suspects that he’s being implicated due to his complaint against Shah Rukh Khan in Rajasthan and Mumbai.
What’s the Case of Threat Against Shah Rukh?
The case began with a phone call received at Mumbai’s Bandra police station. The unknown caller demanded a ransom, saying they wanted Rs 50 lakh or they would kill Shah Rukh Khan.
Following this, Mumbai police acted swiftly, with three officers arriving in Raipur. They stayed overnight in a hotel and visited Faizan’s house in the Pandri area after tracing the mobile SIM’s location. They questioned him for nearly two hours about the threatening call.
Faizan had reported his SIM as lost on November 4 at Kharmarhdi Police Station after losing his phone on November 2. The threatening call was made to Bandra Police Station on November 5. After showing a copy of his police complaint, Faizan was released but asked to appear for further questioning in Mumbai on November 14.
According to Faizan, he had seen a viral social media reel from Shah Rukh Khan’s 1994 film Anjaam. In the scene, Shah Rukh’s character, holding a gun, talks about hunting a deer. He instructs his servant Hari Singh to cook the deer, and an actress in the film questions why he kills innocent animals, to which he responds that he enjoys it.
Faizan demanded a ban on the film Anjaam, claiming that an offensive dialogue in the movie insults the Bishnoi community’s religious beliefs.

Faizan explained that the Bishnoi community worships deer, and their faith includes a commandment to protect the animal. Shah Rukh Khan’s dialogue is deeply offensive to the community’s values.
In his complaint, Faizan detailed the controversial scene, arguing that Shah Rukh Khan’s actions could incite discord. Faizan had filed complaints in October at Mathania Police Station in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, and with the Mumbai Police Commissioner, alleging that Shah Rukh Khan aimed to provoke unrest by offending the Bishnoi community.
He also mentioned to the SSP that he and his family’s lives could be in danger from Shah Rukh Khan.
Faizan alleged that his SIM was used in the threatening call and suspects it’s a plot to frame him. He lodged a complaint with Raipur SSP Santosh Singh, expressing concerns for his and his family’s safety.
Civil Lines CSP Ajay Kumar stated that Mumbai police did not inform Raipur police about any arrest. Mumbai police are currently investigating whether the suspect made the call himself or if someone else was involved.

After the success of his films Pathan and Jawan in 2023, Shah Rukh Khan received repeated threats. After filing a complaint, he was granted Y-Plus security. Since then, he travels with tight security.
On November 2, Shah Rukh celebrated his 59th birthday. While he usually greets fans from the balcony of his home, Mannat, this year he refrained due to security concerns. Instead, he attended an event at the Rang Mandir Auditorium in Bandra around 6 pm.
