State to reserve land for second runway to increase flight frequency from Raipur airport: CM Baghel

Raipur: Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday said that the state government will reserve land for the second runway to increase the frequency of flights at Raipur airport besides making efforts to get permission from the Center in this regard. He asked the officials concerned to start the process for development of Aerocity near Raipur Airport.

He was chairing a review meeting of the works of the Urban Administration and Development Department, Town and Country Planning, Housing and Environment, and NRDA at his residence office here.

Baghel asked Town and Country Planning officials to increase the pace of the work of regularization of illegal constructions and give wide publicity to it. He said that the law has been enforced to directly benefit the public and it must be ensured that the maximum number of people get its benefit. For regularization of illegal construction, camps should be organized at ward and village level.

The chief minister instructed the Town and Country Planning Department to complete the work of approval of the layout and road structure of the colony within the stipulated time frame. He asked the officials concerned to take strict action against illegal colonizers and FIR should be registered. He also instructed them to complete the construction work of Seva Gram in Naya Raipur within the time limit.

Releasing Rs 147 crore to the urban bodies for road repair work, Baghel said that the collectors will have the right to choose the agency for road repair work. Giving strict instructions to repair the bad roads of the cities immediately, he said that the collector and corporation commissioner should personally inspect the road construction works.
