The Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly witnessed a tumultuous third day of the monsoon session as the Opposition raised the issue of daily wage and contractual employees’ protest. BJP MLAs raised slogans and even gave notice for adjournment, while the ruling party’s MLAs responded with the chant “Bhupesh Hai To Bharosa Hai” (If Bhupesh is there, we have trust), leading to a temporary adjournment of proceedings.
Once the session resumed, BJP MLA Ajay Chandrakar made strong statements, stating, “The striking contractual and daily wage employees in the state have rejected the Chief Minister’s announcement. There are four lakh employees participating in the protest, and dissatisfaction prevails among all sections.” Meanwhile, former opposition leader DharamlalKaushik highlighted the contrast between the government’s words and actions.
During the discussion on the no-confidence motion, Chandrakar brought up concerns regarding mismanagement in the education sector. He pointed out, “Private universities are running their business, leading to students from here seeking education abroad.”

Dissatisfied with the government’s response, the BJP members staged a walkout. In response, Food Minister AmarjeetBhagat assured that action would be taken against those found guilty after verifying the stocks in 2022-23.
A total of 34 petitions were filed in the High Court concerning the irregularities, and the extent of the discrepancies and the individuals responsible will be determined after the High Court’s decision. Minister Bhagat stated, “DrRaman Singh had written two letters to the center, and the center’s team had confirmed no irregularities.”
Adding to the intrigue of the session, Chandrakar expressed his affection for Minister Kawasi Lakhma and Chief Minister BhupeshBaghel, proclaiming “I Love You.”
In response, the Legislative Assembly Speaker, Dr Charnadas Mahant, scheduled a discussion on the no-confidence motion.
The call attention motion during the discussions will be held on JCC MLA Renu Jogi’s address on non-compliance of medical education and Ayush university standards by privately run universities in the state.
