Remarkable efforts in progress to make Chhattisgarh healthy and prosperous: CM Baghel
Raipur: Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel attended the Aabhar Program organized by beneficiaries of the Chief Minister Special Health Assistance Scheme at the Advanced Cardiac Institute, Mekahara, Raipur on Tuesday. Patients and their families expressed gratitude for the scheme, which provides financial assistance up to Rs 25 lakh.
The event was attended by Parliamentary Secretary Vikas Upadhyay, Chhattisgarh Housing Board Chairman Kuldeep Juneja, Advisor to the Chief Minister Ruchir Garg, and Dr. Preeti Nagaria along with Dr. Smith Srivastava and Dr. Rakesh Gupta.
During the programme, chief minister Baghel highlighted the state’s commitment to healthcare, including the expansion of health facilities even in remote forest areas. He assured the strengthening of the Advanced Cardiac Institute in Mekahara, Raipur, with modern equipment. Baghel emphasized the importance of addressing heart diseases and announced the increased financial support under the Chief Minister Special Health Assistance Scheme. Currently covering 6.9 lakh families in the state, the scheme has received claims worth Rs 3643.09 crore and has approved assistance for 2,643 patients totaling Rs 79.57 crore.
Baghel also praised Chhattisgarh’s Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College and Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Government Hospital, noting their significance for both residents and neighboring states. Plans to expand Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Hospital include the construction of a 7-story super speciality hospital with 700 beds and cutting-edge technology, costing Rs 325 crore.
