Ramen Deka becomes Governor of Chhattisgarh, HC Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha administers oath

Ramen Deka was sworn in as the 10th Governor of Chhattisgarh on Wednesday. Chief Justice of the Chhattisgarh High Court, Ramesh Sinha, administered the oath to him at Raj Bhawan.
Deka, upon his arrival at the Swami Vivekananda Airport, Raipur on Tuesday, mentioned that Chhattisgarh is rapidly emerging on the development front. He emphasized that he will work to elevate the state’s development to new levels, acting as a facilitator between the Centre and the state to expedite the region’s progress.
Deka offered prayers at the Maa Kali Temple located at Akashvani Chowk, accompanied by his wife, Rani Deka Kakoti.
He stated that he will also work towards cultural exchanges between Assam and Chhattisgarh. His top priority is the development of the state.
Deka, the new Governor of Chhattisgarh, hails from Assam. He was born on March 1, 1954, in Sualkuchi, Kamrup district, Assam. He has been elected twice as a Member of Parliament from the Mangaldoi Lok Sabha constituency on a BJP ticket. He is also one of the founding members of the BJP and has served as the President of the Assam BJP.
In February 2023, Biswabhusan Harichandan was appointed as the Governor of Chhattisgarh and served in the position for approximately one and a half years. Now, Deka from Assam will take over this responsibility starting today.
