ED Raids Multiple Locations in Chhattisgarh, Involving Prominent Figures

Dispatch News.
Raipur. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted early morning raids at various locations in Raipur, Bilaspur, and Korba, Chhattisgarh. Among those targeted were State Congress Party Treasurer and State Supply Corporation President Ram Gopal Agarwal and IAS officer Ranu Sahu, who was previously under the ED’s scrutiny during the coal scam. Contractor Sunil Ramdas Agarwal’s name also emerged in connection with the raids.
The ED team extended its operations to Bilaspur and Korba, raiding locations like Amba Plaza, Rama Valley, and Vinoba Nagar in Bilaspur. In Raipur, Deshbandhu Complex and Lavista in Amlidih got raided.
While the exact nature of the raids is unclear, speculation suggests they could be related to the state’s rice scam, the old coal scam, or illegal recovery cases. In the last 72 hours, the Income Tax Department also conducted raids on rice millers and Markfed’s Managing Director.
Sources claim that the alleged issue of collecting twenty rupees per quintal from rice millers and passing it on to influential figures may be connected to these raids. However, it is too early to draw direct links between the ED and the Income Tax Department’s actions. Notably, Ramgopal Agarwal had been on the ED’s radar before these raids, and IAS officer Ranu Sahu has faced ED interrogation about the coal scam and illegal recovery.
Authorities have yet to release detailed information about the raids, leaving the public speculating about the motives and targets behind these investigations.
