RAAHI – Eye care service on wheels, under Truckers Eye Health Program, inaugurated at Shri Ganesh Vinayak Eye Hospital.

Raipur, 26th March: Shri Ganesh Vinayak Eye Hospital and Shri Ganesh Vinayak Eye Foundation keeping in line with the vision “ Andhatav Mukt Chhattisgarh – Roshan Chhattisgarh” inaugurates RAAHI – Eye Care Facility on wheels under Truckers Eye Health Program supported by Sightsavers and funded by Chola.
Mr. Dickson Charles- National coordinator of Raahi, Dr. Paritosh Chandekar -Zonal coordinator of Raahi, Mr. Gaurav Jain- Sr. Project Officer, SightSaver, C.G, Hemantha Kumar Pamarthy, consultant Cholamandalam. Dr Charudutt Kalamkar, Director Shri Ganesh Vinayak Eye Hospital and Secretary, Shri Ganesh Vinayak Foundation and other senior members were present.
Raahi Mobile Van, equipped with a primary eye check-up facility, aims to reach the communities that often don’t have access to health services. It will help to aid the underserved areas, assisting in simple yet crucial service. This initiative will also act as a platform to generate awareness of eye health issues and provide quality treatment.


“Undoubtedly, the hospital also understands its responsibility towards society, hence trying to serve the untouched area in Chhattisgarh. We are trying to work on our tagline – Andhatav mukt Chhattisgarh – Roshan Chhattisgarh, and hopefully, we will achieve this soon. Under this program, we have started one static Vision centre at Raipur transport nagar where we provide free eye screening for truck drivers, helpers, transporters, mechanics etc. and distribute free near and distance spectacles supported by Sightsavers and funded by Chola. The second program is in Korba and Raigarh, where we have free eye screening camps for the same targeted population and free spectacles. And now we will implement this mobile eye check-up unit van at Durg Bhilai for those targeted population with the same process” comments Dr Charudutt Kalamkar, Director and Eye surgeon, Shri Ganesh Vinayak Eye Hospital.
