Ongoing encounter between Police and Naxalites in Abujhmad, Narayanpur on Chhattisgarh-Maharashtra border

An encounter is ongoing between the police and Naxalites in the Kutul area of Abujhmad, Narayanpur, located on the Chhattisgarh-Maharashtra border. In this encounter, security forces have killed 8 Maoists so far, and the number may increase. Unfortunately, one STF jawan has been martyred and two others injured, who are being airlifted to Raipur for medical treatment. Since January this year, in the span of 161 days, the security forces have killed 141 Naxalites.
The police received information that a large number of Naxalites were present in the Kutul, Farsabeda, and Kodtameta areas. Following this, around 1,400 personnel from DRG and STF were sent from Bastar division’s Jagdalpur, Dantewada, Kondagaon, and Kanker for the operation. For the past three days, the forces have been conducting operations against the Naxalites.
The security forces have surrounded the Naxalite hideouts. A day earlier, there were intermittent gunfights between the joint team of forces and the Naxalites throughout the day. The encounter resumed on the morning of June 15. Officials have stated that more information will be available once the troops return.

“I pray to God for the peace of the martyred soldier’s soul and for the speedy recovery of the injured soldiers. The tough action against the Naxalites is causing them to be unsettled. Our government is fully committed to their eradication, and we will not rest until our goal is achieved,” said CM Said.

Seven Naxalites Killed Seven Days Ago

Seven days ago, an encounter took place at the borders of Dantewada, Narayanpur, and Bastar districts, resulting in the death of 7 Naxalites. The bodies and weapons of the killed Naxalites were recovered, including a company commander of the DVCM cadre, who had a bounty of 8 lakh rupees on him. Three soldiers were also injured in the encounter.

Twelve Naxalites Killed in June

In the last month, security forces killed 12 Naxalites. Items recovered from the site included BGLs, guns, Naxal uniforms, backpacks, medicines, and explosives. During the encounter, two STF and DRG soldiers were also injured. Since January this year, security forces have killed approximately 134 Naxalites in the span of 161 days.
