NMC approves 150 MBBS seats at Chandulal Chandrakar Medical College

Raipur: After a long wait of 4 years, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has given its permission for 150 MBBS seats in the Chandulal Chandrakar Medical College.

Health Minister TS Singh Deo took to Twitter to give information in this regard. He wrote in a tweet ” I would like to inform all the people of the state with great satisfaction that Chandulal Chandrakar Medical College, Durg has got permission from National Institute of Medical Sciences for 150 seats. Establishment of this medical college in the state will prove beneficial for all medical aspirants.”

Meanwhile, in the year 2017, MCI had withdrawn the recognition of MBBS here after the inspection of the medical college. After that it was not recognized for four years. In the year 2020, the Chhattisgarh government acquired this college.

Following this, the facilities were increased here to meet the guidelines of MCI. In view of this, MCI has restored the recognition of 150 seats in the session 2022-23 itself. Now again students will be able to get their counseling done in this college on the basis of their marks. After counselling, MBBS classes will start here.
