National Conference of District Judiciary Marks a Significant Step for Chhattisgarh’s Judicial Officers

A delegation of 22 judicial officers from Chhattisgarh, led by Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha of the Chhattisgarh High Court, participated in the National Conference of the District Judiciary held in Delhi from August 31 to September 1. The conference, which marked the 75th Anniversary of the Supreme Court of India, was organized under the leadership of the Chief Justice of India, Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, and brought together distinguished members of the judiciary from across the nation.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the event as the Chief Guest and delivered a keynote address in which he underscored the judiciary’s pivotal role in upholding the Constitution and safeguarding citizens’ rights. He praised the judiciary’s dedication to justice and called for ongoing efforts to strengthen the legal framework in India.
The conference concluded with a valedictory session led by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu. In her address, President Murmu highlighted the judiciary’s significant role in nation-building and urged judicial officers to remain steadfast in their commitment to justice, impartiality, and integrity. She emphasized the importance of the judiciary in maintaining fairness and upholding the rule of law.
Among the notable attendees were Supreme Court Judges Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice Surya Kant, who shared their insights on the evolving landscape of the judiciary. Their discussions focused on the importance of judicial independence, integrity, and accountability, particularly at the district level.
Throughout the two-day conference, participants engaged in in-depth discussions on crucial topics such as judicial ethics, case management, the impact of recent legislative changes, and strategies to address the backlog of cases. These sessions provided a platform for judicial officers to exchange best practices and explore innovative solutions to the challenges facing the judiciary.
Chhattisgarh’s delegation, led by Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha, played an active role in the conference, demonstrating the state’s commitment to enhancing the capabilities of its judicial officers. The event offered these officers a valuable opportunity to learn from the experiences of their peers across the country and apply these insights to improve judicial processes within their districts.
