Nandkumar Sai, BJP’s Tribal Strongman in Chhattisgarh, Resigns from BJP
Raipur: Nandkumar Sai, a senior tribal leader of the BJP in Chhattisgarh, has resigned from the party citing consistent harm to his image and dignity. In a tweet, he stated that self-respect comes first for him, leaving him with no other option. Sai has an impressive track record, having served as a five-time MP, three-time MLA, two-time state president, and opposition leader.
Nandkumar’s resignation, which features his letterhead, has been circulating on social media. In the letter, he alleges that a conspiracy was plotted against him due to political rivalry, with efforts made to tarnish his image. Frustrated by these actions, he has decided to resign. The viral letter also expresses his gratitude for the significant responsibilities that the organization had entrusted to him.
Chhattisgarh Congress has criticized the BJP for Nandkumar Sai’s resignation. Taking to Twitter, the Congress stated that it has once again been proven that the BJP is against the interests of the tribal community. Sai’s resignation serves as a clear example of this.
Nandkumar Sai has an impressive political career, having served as a five-time Member of Parliament, a three-time Member of Legislative Assembly, a two-time State President, and opposition leader. He is a prominent tribal figure and considered a leading candidate for the post of Chhattisgarh’s first tribal Chief Minister. Nandkumar Sai has also held the position of state BJP president in undivided Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, as well as serving as a Rajya Sabha member.
Nandkumar Sai’s political journey began in 1989 when he was first elected as a Lok Sabha MP. He was re-elected in 1996 and, after the state’s formation in 2004, he became a Member of Parliament for the third time. He continued his political career and was elected as a Rajya Sabha MP in 2009. In 2017, during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tenure, Nandkumar Sai was appointed as the National Chairman of the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes.
