Kawardha violence: Chief Minister Removes Kabirdham Collector and SP, Rengakhar Police Station In-Charge and Entire Staff Replaced, Magistrate Inquiry ordered

Chief Minister Vishnudeo Sai has directed a magisterial probe into the unfortunate incident of the death of Raghunath Sahu following a fire that occurred after the death of Shivprasad Sahu in Loharidih village, Kabirdham district, on September 15. In light of this incident, where police personnel allegedly assaulted villagers, a total of 23 police personnel stationed at Rengakhar police station, including the inspector and assistant sub-inspector, have been removed.
As per the Chief Minister’s instructions, both the Collector and SP of Kabirdham district have been dismissed. Gopal Verma has been appointed as the new Collector of Kabirdham in place of Janmejay Mahobe. Rajesh Kumar Agarwal has been appointed as the new Superintendent of Police, replacing Abhishek Pallava. It is noteworthy that IPS Vikas Kumar, who was serving as the Additional Superintendent of Police in the district had already been suspended.
In compliance with the magistrate inquiry directives issued by Chief Minister Sai, the Collector and District Magistrate of Kabirdham has appointed Additional District Magistrate Nirbhay Kumar Sahu as the inquiry officer, directing him to investigate the specified points and submit a report within 30 days. The Chief Minister emphasised that any negligence in such incidents will not be tolerated in the future, and strict action will be taken against those responsible.
