Jal Jeevan Mission: More than 14 lakh household tap connections in the state

Raipur: The work of providing safe and adequate drinking water through individual household tap connections in the rural remote areas of the state is being done under Jal Jeevan Mission. About 14 lakh 06 thousand 704 household tap connections have been installed in the state. Work is being done expeditiously to complete the works of the Jal Jeevan Mission in rural areas of the state within the stipulated time limit.

Meanwhile, a detailed review of the works of solar-based, retrofitting, multi-village, and single village schemes is being done from time to time by Jal Jeevan Mission Director Topeshwar Verma. He has instructed the officials concerned to make arrangements for running water in schools, sub-health centers, and Anganwadi centers, ISA training, and complete the work of wall writing and painting to promote the works of Jal Jeevan Mission in a time-bound manner.

Along with this, instructions have also been given to ensure data entry of all the progress works in the IMIS portal. It is worth mentioning that a provision of Rs one thousand crore has been made for Jal Jeevan Mission in the state budget of the financial year 2022-23. Work is being done at a rapid pace under Jal Jeevan Mission to provide 55 liters of drinking water per person per day. So far, pure drinking water is being supplied through tap connections in 43, 837 schools, 41, 653 Anganwadi centers, and 17, 251 gram panchayats and community sub-health centers in the state.
