Governor’s meeting sought by CM Baghel to address backward classes’ demands
Raipur: Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel has penned a letter to Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan, earnestly requesting his valuable time for a meeting in response to appeals from the Chhattisgarh OBC Mahasabha and the Chhattisgarh Backward Classes Welfare Association. In his correspondence, Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel has underscored that during the OBC Mahasammelan held in Raipur on August 27, 2023, representatives from the Chhattisgarh OBC Mahasabha and the Chhattisgarh Backward Classes Welfare Association expressed their earnest desire to discuss their pending requisitions with the Governor. Consequently, he has humbly solicited the Governor’s gracious consideration to allocate time for the delegation from the Chhattisgarh OBC Mahasabha and Chhattisgarh Backward Classes Welfare Association, and to approach their concerns with empathy.
Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh OBC Mahasabha and the Chhattisgarh Backward Classes Welfare Association recently engaged in a meeting with chief minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday, during which they outlined their requests concerning equitable inclusion of the OBC category within the government’s public welfare initiatives. Among their prominent appeals was the swift implementation of a 27 percent OBC reservation. Concurrently, the associations also appealed to chief minister to liaise with governor Biswabhusan Harichandan for addressing several lingering demands. As a result, chief minister Bhupesh Baghel has now extended a formal communication to the Governor on this matter.
