Former Chhattisgarh Deputy CM T.S. Singhdeo and Nephew Adityeshwar Sharan Singhdeo Donate Organs, Highlighting Social Responsibility

Senior Congress leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh T.S. Singhdeo and his nephew Adityeshwar Sharan Singhdeo have donated their organs on Thursday, keeping in mind their social responsibility.
Through Aryan Sinha, a lifelong member of the Red Cross Society, they completed the formalities for the organ donations and received certificates for their noble gesture. Explaining his motive behind the organ donation, the former Deputy Chief Minister said that organ donation is an essential responsibility towards society. He noted that in India, due to funeral and other traditions, there is some hesitation towards organ donation. However, if a person’s organs can be made available to someone in need after death, it is a significant act.
He mentioned that during his tenure as Health Minister, he realized that institutions related to organ donation and availability, such as ROTA (Regional Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization ) and SOTA (State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization), were not present in Chhattisgarh. This created significant challenges for patients in need of organs like liver and kidney in the state. However, during his term, he not only made these institutions active in Chhattisgarh but also established a tissue bank in the state.
