ED questions liquor barons of Raipur late Friday night

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) the office of the Excise Department, Chhattisgarh, late Friday night as seven-eight big liquor barons along with their of the state capital reached the ED office with their near ones to undergo an interrogation process. Only one or two persons were allowed to go home after the interrogation, sources said. 

The ED team had received inputs about illegal transactions between the excise department of the state and liquor barons. 

After enquiry, the businessmen sitting inside ordered food from their homes. ED officers also started ordering food online. By the end of the night, a squad of another investigation team suddenly reached the office.

According to sources, all the liquor traders were seated inside and these traders were being taken to different rooms one by one. 

Sources said that some businessmen were also asked to sign a prescriptive statement. 

On March 28, the ED team reached the locations of businessman Suresh Bande, CA Prateek Jain and leaders associated with the Congress. In Raipur on Wednesday, IAS Anil Tuteja, liquor baron Baldev Singh Bhatia, Bhilaihotel owner Vinod Singh, Raipur mayor AijazDhebar, his brother Anwar Dhebar. In Durgdistrict, Nehru Nagar resident N Uday Rao, liquor baron Pappu Bansal were enquired at their locations of Khursipar, Atul Singh at Smriti Nagar, Sanjeev Fatepuria at Nehru Nagarand Excise Officer AP Tripathi.
