During the festive season, the Korba police took strict action against gamblers, registering 177 cases in the last seven days in which 677 accused were arrested and a cash amount of Rs 6 lakh 21 thousand 360, including 20 motorcycles and three cars, was confiscated.
On Dussehra and Deepawali, Superintendent of Police Korba Santosh Singh issued directives to all gazetted officers in charge of the district’s station outposts to take strict action against gamblers. Under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police Korba Abhishek Verma, City Superintendent of Police Darri Robinson Gudiya, City Superintendent of Police Korba Deepak Tripathi, and SDOP Katghora Ishwar Trivedi, a campaign was launched against gamblers playing in their respective areas by all the police station outpost in-charges of the district. In the last seven days, a total of 177 cases were registered in Korba district, with 677 accused arrested and a cash amount of Rs 6 lakh 21 thousand 360 recovered, as well as 20 motorcycles and three cars confiscated. All of the accused got charged under the Gambling Act. Korba Police will continue to run their campaign in the future.
