Raipur: In South Abujhmad, a fierce encounter with Naxalites has claimed the life of Dantewada DRG’s Head Constable Sannu Karam. During the ongoing search operation, the bodies of four uniformed Naxalites have been recovered, along with automatic weapons such as AK-47s and SLRs.
According to reports, a joint anti-Naxal search operation involving DRG units from Narayanpur, Dantewada, Jagdalpur, and Kondagaon districts, along with the STF, was launched in the Abujhmad region on January 3. Intermittent clashes with Naxalites have been ongoing since the evening of January 4.
Chief Minister Vishnudeo Sai expressed grief over the martyrdom of DRG’s Head Constable Sannu Karam. In a social media post, he stated, “The tragic news of Head Constable Sannu Karam’s sacrifice in the encounter has been received. His sacrifice will not be in vain. Security forces are fighting Naxalism with great determination, and this fight will continue until it is eradicated.”
