Chhattisgarh to Celebrate Silver Jubilee Year as ‘Atal Nirman Varsh’

Union Health and Family Welfare Minister J.P. Nadda highlighted the achievements of the double-engine government during the Janadesh Parv event held at the Science College Ground in Raipur. He emphasized the collaborative efforts of the central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Chhattisgarh government led by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, stating that their joint governance is delivering “double benefits” to the people.
Nadda inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for various development projects worth Rs 1,124 crore during the event. He praised India’s economic progress under PM Modi, asserting that the country, now the world’s fifth-largest economy, is poised to become the third-largest in the next five years. He also noted that 25 crore people in India have been lifted out of poverty due to Modi’s leadership.
During the event, Nadda lauded the Chhattisgarh government for its public-oriented governance and outlined its accomplishments over the past year. He highlighted that over 18 lakh beneficiaries received approval under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana just two days after the state cabinet’s first meeting.
Farmers are being paid Rs 3,100 per quintal for paddy, and Rs 3,716 crore in pending bonuses were disbursed.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai announced that Chhattisgarh will celebrate Janadesh Parv annually from December 3 to December 13. He declared 2025, the state’s silver jubilee year, as Atal Nirman Varsh in honor of the visionary leadership of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who laid the foundation for infrastructure development during his tenure. Sai stated that the year would focus on infrastructure development, followed by thematic initiatives in subsequent years.
Over Rs 6,530 crore has been disbursed under the Mahatari Vandan Yojana to 70 lakh women in 10 installments, ensuring timely support. The state has adopted e-office systems and digital governance to enhance transparency and accountability.
Economic Growth: A new industrial policy aims to attract Rs 2.5 lakh crore in investments, creating 5 lakh jobs over the next five years.
A Tourism Corridor in Bastar is underway, with Kanger Valley’s Dhurmaras village gaining global recognition, the Chief Minister stated.
Surguja and Bastar have also emerged on the world tourism map, with new air connectivity boosting development and tourism, he said.
Highlighting success on the Maoist front, Sai stated that over 200 Maoists were eliminated within a year, with developmental initiatives reaching previously insurgency-affected villages.
Union Minister Nadda was presented with a replica of Ayodhya’s Ram Temple, crafted in bell metal by Bastar artisans. The event also showcased sand art by Padma Shri awardee Sudarshan Pattnaik, depicting state government initiatives.
The event saw participation from Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao, Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, former Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais, Bihar Cabinet Minister Nitin Naveen, and other dignitaries.
