Deputy Chief Minister Chairs General Council Meeting to Enhance Medical Facilities in Raipur Medical College and Hospital

A meeting of the General Council of the Autonomous Committee of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial Hospital of Raipur was held today under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister and Medical Education Minister T.S Singhdeo. In the meeting organised at Naveen Vishram Bhawan, Raipur, he emphasised providing quality health facilities to the people in the medical college and affiliated hospital, new medical equipment, and the arrangement of a sufficient number of human resources in all the departments. Given the increase in MBBS seats in the Medical College at the General Council meeting, approval was given for the construction of new lecture halls with all the facilities in all the departments. For this, Rs 2 crore was approved in the meeting. MLAs Satyanarayan Sharma and Kuldeep Juneja, Additional Chief Secretary of the Medical Education Department Renu G. Pillai, Secretary Shri P. Dayanand, and Commissioner Raipur Division Dr. Sanjay Alang also attended the meeting.
In the meeting, the Deputy Chief Minister asked to make full use of the budget provided by the state government for the medical college and hospital. Approval was given for recruitment to the vacant posts of Technician, Pharmacist, Lab technician, and X-ray technician. In the general council meeting, Rs 72 lakh was approved for equipment, furniture, books, and journals for the BASLP course conducted by the ENT department. Approval of Rs 27 lakh for the MSc course conducted by the Department of Biochemistry and Rs 28 lakh from the autonomous head for the operation of the Physiotherapy College was also given in the meeting.
In the general council meeting of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, the revised budget for the current financial year 2023–24, the purchase of equipment and furniture for various departments, equipment and furniture for smart classrooms, labs, and demonstration rooms, and in November this year, The Diamond Jubilee programme of the Medical College to be organised, were also discussed. On the other hand, in the general council meeting of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial Hospital, the pending E.F. The Managing Director of CGMSC, Chandrakant Verma, the Director of the Medical Education Department, Dr Vishnu Dutt, the Dean of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Medical College, Dr Trupti Nagaria, and the Superintendent of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial Hospital, Dr S.B.S. Netam, were also present in the General Council meeting.
