Controversy Erupts in Chhattisgarh as Tweets Fly Over Adipurush Film: BJP and Congress Clash”
Dispatch News.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah recently held a meeting in Durg and then returned to his hometown. However, during his visit, there was an ongoing exchange of tweets between him and Bhupesh Baghel, the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh. The tweets were related to the controversy surrounding the film Adipurush, which has caused tension between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress in the state.
During Amit Shah’s visit to Raipur, Bhupesh Baghel demanded a ban on the film Adipurush through a tweet. He asked Amit Shah to announce the ban on the film, stating that it tarnishes the image of Lord Ram, revered by many. The Chief Minister welcomed Amit Shah to Chhattisgarh, which he referred to as Lord Ram’s maternal home, and urged him to take action against the film.
However, when Amit Shah returned without announcing the ban on Adipurush, Bhupesh Baghel expressed his disappointment in another tweet. He stated that everyone in Chhattisgarh, especially the devotees of Lord Ram, was hurt by Amit Shah’s failure to address their concerns. The Chief Minister made it clear that their demand was not politically motivated but rather stemmed from a sincere concern for the reputation of their deity.
In response to CM’s tweets, Brijmohan Agarwal, a leader from the BJP, criticised the Chief Minister. He pointed out that Bhupesh Baghel had been highlighting flaws in the film Adipurush since its release but had not yet announced a ban in the state. He accused Bhupesh Baghel and his party of using Lord Ram for political purposes.
Overall, the tweets and statements from both sides have sparked a face-to-face confrontation between the BJP and the Congress in Chhattisgarh, with differing opinions on whether Adipurush should be banned or allowed to be released. The controversy revolves around the film’s portrayal of Lord Ram and its potential impact on the sentiments of devotees.
