Congress to Focus on Organizational Revamp in Chhattisgarh: Ground Report Complete, Senior Leaders’ Meet Soon

Raipur
With the six-day “Chhattisgarh Nyay Yatra” wrapping up on Wednesday, the Congress party is now shifting its focus to revamping its organizational structure in the state. A critical meeting to discuss these changes is expected in the second week of October. The state’s three newly appointed in-charge secretaries have completed their tours and prepared detailed ground reports on the situation.

In the upcoming reshuffle, leaders who were highly active during the yatra, demonstrated influence in their areas, and maintained a strong rapport with the public are likely to be featured in the new list.

Focus on Dynamic Leadership for a Stronger Organization

The Congress is on the lookout for dynamic leaders to revitalize the party. Several members have faced criticism for their lackluster performance during elections, while those who have nearly completed their five-year terms will also be replaced. The aim is to bring in energetic and capable leaders who can strengthen the party at the grassroots level.

Organizational Changes Delayed, Now Expected Soon

The list of new office bearers and district presidents was initially expected by August, but delays pushed the timeline further into September. It is now anticipated that the list will be released shortly.

In-Charge Secretaries to Provide Key Feedback

As part of the decision-making process, feedback will be gathered on district presidents and state office bearers. The performance of leaders during the “Nyay Yatra” will be a crucial factor in determining whether they will be included in the new Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) team. The new team will be formed based on feedback from the in-charge secretaries and agreement among senior leaders.

Chintan Shivir Guidelines to Shape the New Team

The formation of the new executive committee is generating buzz within the party, with a focus on including leaders under the age of 50. Sachin Pilot has emphasized the implementation of the Udaipur Chintan Shivir rules, guiding the formation of this new team as per AICC (All India Congress Committee) directives. Key guidelines include:

Replacing presidents who have served more than five years.
Filling over 50% of positions with leaders under 50.
Ensuring significant roles for women.
Giving a “cooling-off period” to office bearers who have held posts for more than five years, allowing them to serve as regular party workers temporarily.
Prioritizing opportunities for the younger generation across all districts.
Implementing the “one person, one post” rule.
Chhanni Sahu Poised to Lead Women’s Congress

Significant changes are also expected in Congress’ frontal organizations and cells. Former Khujji MLA Chhanni Sahu is reportedly the frontrunner to become the new president of the Women’s Congress. Following the PCC restructuring, it is crucial for the Congress to activate its various wings, and the party plans to assign key roles to energetic, aggressive, and proactive leaders.
