Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudeo Sai on Wednesday expressed confidence that the BJP would form governments in both Maharashtra and Jharkhand. Before departing for Delhi, the Chief Minister, while talking to media, stated that Congress’s allegations against Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), is a continuous process. The CM stated, “Raising doubts about EVMs during elections has become a habit for Congress. It further indicates that BJP is set to win in both states.”
The CM remarked, “When Congress wins, EVMs are considered fine. When they lose, they blame the machines. This pattern has been repeatedly observed in their statements.”
Regarding his Delhi trip, Sai mentioned attending Chhattisgarh Day at Bharat Mandapam, which is part of the ongoing India International Trade Fair. He noted, “Each day is dedicated to a different state, and today is Chhattisgarh Day, which will be celebrated in the presence of the Governor.”
Meanwhile, voting for all 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra was underway on Wednesday, with polling scheduled from 7 AM to 6 PM. The results will be announced on November 23. Technical issues with EVMs were reported at polling stations in Nagpur Central, Nashik, and Malegaon.
In Nagpur Central, voting was delayed by an hour due to EVM malfunctions. On allegations of cash distribution, BJP General Secretary Vinod Tawde challenged Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, saying, “If he has proof of ₹5 crore cash, let him present it.”
