CM Bhupesh Baghel Unveils Remarkable Achievements in Chhattisgarh’s Socio-Economic Landscape.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel underscored Chhattisgarh’s agrarian essence and the government’s unwavering commitment to bolster the rural economy. During his address at the ‘Netaji Newsroom Mein’ program organised by Dainik Bhaskar in Raipur, he shed light on the transformative measures taken to uplift various segments of the state’s populace.
Baghel highlighted the following key accomplishments:
- Farmer-Centric Initiatives: The state government prioritised farmers by waiving their loans and irrigation tax dues. Chhattisgarh has now become a frontrunner in providing farmers with competitive prices for their produce.
- Poverty Alleviation: Addressing the alarming poverty rates was a primary concern. Through targeted welfare schemes, the state successfully lifted over 40 lakh individuals out of poverty.
- Tackling Malnutrition: Focusing on malnutrition, especially among children and women, the government initiated Chief Minister Suposhan Abhiyan. This programme has rescued over two lakh children from malnutrition and freed more than one and a half lakh women from anaemia.
- Healthcare Accessibility: The Chief Minister Special Health Assistance Scheme has provided healthcare services up to Rs 25 lakh. Additionally, the Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store Scheme ensures affordable access to medications with a 72 per cent discount.
- Rural Development: The government aimed to uplift the Bastar region through a policy of development, trust, and security. Initiatives such as recognising fish farming, lac farming, and beekeeping as forms of agriculture have boosted the income of the region’s residents. The state has also purchased minor forest produce at support prices and initiated millet processing.
- Innovative Healthcare: To enhance healthcare accessibility in remote areas, the government introduced the Haat Bazaar Clinic Scheme. This unique approach brought healthcare to local markets, resulting in over one crore and 86 lakh beneficiaries across the state. The scheme was pivotal in diagnosing and treating various ailments, including previously unknown conditions like high blood pressure and diabetes.
- Malaria Elimination: The state conducted a successful Malaria-Free Bastar Campaign, effectively eradicating the disease from the region.
He also addressed concerns regarding the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (PSC) and pledged to investigate any complaints related to PSC exams. He assured eligible candidates that the government would take the necessary actions to address the issue. He also encouraged the youth to remain dedicated to their aspirations.
