CM Bhupesh Baghel Unveils Initiatives for Enhanced Safety and Convenience, Inaugurates Key Projects

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel introduced a series of initiatives during his recent event, spanning from Raipur to Delhi, aimed at enhancing convenience and safety for the public. These initiatives encompass measures geared toward the safe travel of women, where every passenger vehicle will now be mandated to include a panic button and GPS for immediate location tracking in case of emergencies. To oversee women’s safety, a Nirbhaya Command and Control Centre will be established.

Additionally, the CM inaugurated several noteworthy projects, including an Automated Fitness Center in Raipur and Durg, an Automatic Number Plate Recognition Center, an ethanol plant in Godhi, Durg, and Chhattisgarh Bhawan in New Delhi. Speaking on these developments, CM Bhupesh Baghel emphasized that the Transport Department’s schemes aim not only to ensure women’s safety during travel but also to reduce road accidents. Crackdowns on vehicles lacking valid documents will also help curb criminal activities.

Transport Commissioner Dipanshu Kabra elaborated on the implementation of GPS and panic buttons in passenger vehicles as part of the Nirbhaya project. In the event of an emergency, pressing the panic button will instantly relay information to the emergency hotline (dial 112), providing the vehicle’s location for swift assistance. The Automated Fitness Center, established first in Raipur and Durg, will expedite vehicle testing processes, with plans to expand to additional locations across the state.

Furthermore, Chhattisgarh is making strides in promoting biofuels, with the inauguration of a cutting-edge Bio Ethanol Demonstration Plant in Godhi, Durg. CM Baghel inaugurated the plant virtually, showcasing the state’s commitment to biofuel research and development in collaboration with scientists from CSIR and CSMRI under the guidance of the Government of India.

In another significant development, Chhattisgarh Niwas, constructed at a cost of Rs 60.42 crore on a sprawling 43,803 square feet of land in Dwarka, New Delhi, was unveiled. The building features 61 rooms and 13 suites, designed to accommodate individuals travelling from Chhattisgarh to Delhi for various government, non-government, and medical purposes. Chhattisgarh Niwas joins the ranks of other Chhattisgarh accommodations in Delhi, such as Chhattisgarh Bhawan and Chhattisgarh Sadan.

Lastly, Chhattisgarh celebrated the launch of its first tennis academy, constructed on a four-acre site in Labhandi, Raipur, at a cost of Rs 18 crore. The Chief Minister expressed his optimism about hosting world-class tennis competitions at the academy in the near future.
