CM Baghel disbursed unemployment allowance to 1.35 lakh youth

Raipur: Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel transferred unemployment allowances totaling Rs 35 crore 48 lakh 7 thousand 500 directly into the bank accounts of 1 lakh 35 thousand 104 educated unemployed beneficiaries of Chhattisgarh. The distribution took place from the residence office in the capital Raipur. Under the Unemployment Allowance Scheme, a total of Rs 182 crore 47 lakh 2 thousand 500 has been transferred in six installments as unemployment allowance to the beneficiaries.

The Unemployment Allowance Scheme received 2 lakh 1 thousand 4 hundred 43 applications since April, with 94 per cent (1 lakh 79 thousand 494 applications) recommended for approval. The remaining 6 percent of candidates were disqualified due to absence during physical verification. Among the beneficiaries, 39 percent are women, and 83 percent are from rural areas.

Chief Minister Baghel stated that the scheme aims not only to provide economic support to educated unemployed individuals but also to connect them with employment and self-employment opportunities. The state government offers skill development training to beneficiaries to enhance their employability. The Chief Minister emphasized that doubts about the scheme have been dispelled, and it has successfully provided unemployment allowances directly to beneficiaries’ accounts through online means.

Under Chief Minister Baghel’s guidance, selected unemployment allowance recipients are receiving skill development training. So far, 7,464 candidates have completed training and found employment, with training for 1,796 more candidates set to begin soon.

During the program, Chief Minister Baghel handed appointment letters to 109 ITI Training Officers out of the advertised 920 posts. Additionally, he presented appointment letters to six candidates for the position of Hostel Superintendent.

The Chief Minister virtually distributed appointment letters to 2,161 candidates selected for teaching and lecturing positions in Bastar and Surguja divisions. Of these, 2,139 are assistant teachers, and 22 are lecturers.

The program was attended by Principal Secretary of School Education Department Alok Shukla, Director Technical Education Avnish Sharan, Director Public Instruction Sunil Jain, and other departmental officers and beneficiaries of the Unemployment Allowance Scheme.
