Clash Erupts Among Youth Congress Workers During Chhattisgarh Congress’s Nyay Yatra

Raipur
During the Chhattisgarh Congress’s Nyay Yatra, tensions flared when two Youth Congress workers clashed on stage, though the cause of their altercation remains unclear. The BJP seized the opportunity to criticize the Congress, accusing them of staging the Yatra and alleging that party workers were tearing down posters of their own leaders. Despite this, the Yatra, set to begin from Saragaon and conclude in Saddhu today, has continued with prominent Congress figures actively participating.

On the fourth day of the Yatra, Chhattisgarh Congress President Deepak Baij was joined by senior leaders, including former minister and state president Mohan Markam, Anita Yogendra Sharma, Chhaya Verma, Charandas Mahant, and Jyotsna Mahant. To prevent further internal disputes, these senior leaders presented a united front, using the platform to deliver sharp criticism of the BJP.

Earlier in the day, before Baij’s arrival, local leaders stepped in to mediate between the feuding workers. Following Baij’s passage through, those involved in tearing posters left the rally peacefully. Addressing the crowd, Congress leader Charandas Mahant emphasized the importance of unity and public engagement in the Yatra, calling for solidarity and brotherhood among party members.

Despite the internal strife, the fourth day saw a large turnout of Congress supporters. Children, in particular, welcomed Baij warmly at several stops along the route. The Yatra is set to proceed from Saragaon on Tuesday, with leaders expected to walk 16 kilometers before ending in Saddhu. On Wednesday, October 2, the journey will conclude with Congress leader Sachin Pilot joining the final three kilometers.

Throughout the Yatra, Congress leaders have accused the BJP of sowing discord and undermining harmony in the state. They reaffirmed their commitment to justice and criticized the BJP for allegedly framing Congress leader Devendra Yadav in a legal case, a point of contention during the rally.

The Nyay Yatra has emerged as a critical movement for the Congress in Chhattisgarh, fostering unity among leaders and supporters while addressing key issues of governance and justice in the state.
