Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain to Review Action Against Fake Caste Certificates in Government Jobs
Dispatch News.
Following the recent naked demonstrations in the capital, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain will review actions against individuals using fake caste certificates to secure government jobs. In response to the protests, the government has taken action on the matter and the Secretary of the Scheduled Castes and Tribes Department, DD Singh, has issued a letter to 16 departments, requesting their presence at the review meeting on July 20. Officials attending the meeting have been asked to provide information about the progress made in tackling the issue.
The demonstration occurred during the monsoon session of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, where ST-SC youths attempted to encircle the assembly while demanding action against those involved in fraudulent appointments. The protestors’ bold actions led to their arrest by the police.
The incident was discussed in the House, with BJP MLA Shivratan Sharma expressing concern over the embarrassment caused to the state by the naked protest. The government defended its actions, blaming the previous BJP rule for fake appointments. In response, BJP members criticized the government for targeting the protesting youths instead of holding the guilty officers accountable.
Various MLAs raised their voices in support of the protestors, emphasizing the need for an unbiased investigation by a High Power Committee. Former Chief Minister Raman Singh suggested forming a committee comprising the Chief Secretary and relevant department officials to investigate the matter beyond political considerations.
The review meeting is expected to shed light on the issue of fake caste certificates and address the demands of the protesting youths, ensuring a fair and just resolution.
