Chhattisgarh Olympic Association: Vishnudeo Sai and Vikram Singh Sisodia Elected Unopposed to Top Positions as President and General Secretary of CGOA

In a landmark moment for sports in Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Vishnudeo Sai was elected unopposed as the President of the Chhattisgarh Olympic Association on Sunday. Vikram Singh Sisodia was elected unopposed as the Secretary General of the Association as well. The announcement was made during a special general assembly meeting held at the New Circuit House in Raipur, where Returning Officer Ashok Kumar Agrawal confirmed his election. Alongside him, prominent leaders including Minister Kedar Kashyap, MP Brijmohan Agrawal, and Vijay Baghel were also elected unopposed as Vice Presidents.
In his acceptance speech, Chief Minister Sai expressed his commitment to advancing sports in the state, emphasizing the wealth of talent among Chhattisgarh’s athletes.
“Our goal is clear: we want our athletes to compete in the Olympics and return with medals,” he stated passionately. He underscored the government’s ongoing efforts to bolster sports through infrastructure development and athlete welfare initiatives.
Sai proposed that each newly elected office bearer should take responsibility for a specific district, focusing on promoting locally popular sports. “Your extensive experience in sports and administration will undoubtedly benefit our athletes,” he noted, rallying the new team for collective action.
MP Brijmohan Agrawal, newly elected Vice President, echoed the Chief Minister’s sentiments, highlighting the need for better infrastructure and training facilities for talented athletes. He commended the government’s proactive stance in fostering sports and announced a major initiative: the Chief Minister’s approval to host the National Jamboree of Scouts and Guides in Raipur in 2025. “Our athletes are the ambassadors of Chhattisgarh on national and international platforms, and the Chhattisgarh Olympic Association will do everything to support their rise,” he asserted.
The assembly also saw the election of Vikram Singh Sisodia as General Secretary, Shahee Ram Jakhad, R. Rajendran, Mohammad Akram Khan, Manish Srivastava, Prashant Singh Raghuwanshi, Manoj Kumar Agrawal, and Sameer Khan elected as Joint Secretaries. Sanjay Mishra was elected as Treasurer, and 12 executive members were elected unopposed to serve on the association’s executive committee.
As the Chhattisgarh Olympic Association embarks on this new chapter under Chief Minister Sai’s leadership, the focus will be on collaboration and innovation, ensuring that Chhattisgarh’s athletes shine on the world stage.
