Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel comes down heavily on ED for targeting Congress leaders and officers in Chhattisgarh

Raipur

Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday hit out at Enforcement Directorate (ED) for ‘targetting’ Congress leaders and officers in Chhattisgarh. The chief minister alleged that the ED is threatening them to get their sign on documents, so that they can be farmed on corruption charges.

On ED’s raid on Congress leaders and officers in Chhattisgarh, Baghel said that the maximum number of ED raids have taken place in Chhattisgarh so far. More than 50 raids have taken place since the Congress convention held in February last week this year. How much money and assets have been seized, the chief minister questioned. The ED is not telling it, he said.

The chief minister said that the state government is against corruption and it should be investigated. But the authority that ED has got, it is being misused. Many people have complained about ED forcing them to sign on the documents. Therefore a letter has been written to the Union Home Minister.

In the BJP rule, only people below the poverty line used to get unemployment allowance, but Congress government did not put any such condition.

During BJP, the process of unemployment allowance was difficult. The process of unemployment allowance is easy in this government. There is an online portal, facility of application sitting at home. So far, 6 thousand applications have been received in a day. “We have not made the unemployed an April fool, they have been given allowance. Gave a check of Rs 2500 to four unemployed on Saturday,” said the chief minister.

On not getting the Governor’s signature on the Reservation Amendment Bill, Baghel said that he has written a letter to the Governor regarding reservation, that there is a problem in appointment and admission in the educational institutions. The Governor should take a quick decision in this regard, he said.
