Chhattisgarh’s development lauded by MP Mallikarjun Kharge at Bharose ka Sammelan
Raipur: Leader of the opposition in Rajya Sabha, MP Mallikarjun Kharge, graced the ‘Bharose ka Sammelan’ in Kondatarai village, Raigarh district, on October 4, where he lauded the remarkable progress in Chhattisgarh. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s leadership in implementing a multitude of public welfare programs received praise from Kharge, highlighting the trust of the people in the state government’s initiatives. This gathering was more than just a ‘Bharose ka Sammelan’; it was a “Bharose ke Anushthaan ka Sammelan.”
MP Mallikarjun Kharge emphasized the unique nature of the program and the rarity of such gatherings across India. He commended the widespread organization of ‘Bharose ka Sammelan’ under Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s guidance, emphasizing the strong trust that people have in the Chhattisgarh Government.
He also praised the Chhattisgarh Government’s comprehensive efforts to benefit various sections of society, including children, the elderly, the impoverished, farmers, laborers, women, tribals, youth, and marginalized people. Kharge highlighted that the Chhattisgarh Government’s meticulous planning and schemes have created numerous employment opportunities and improved the income of lakhs of individuals in the state.
The MP commended Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel for his unwavering commitment to the state’s development, even during challenging times. He attributed the ongoing development in the state to the government’s efforts to uplift the people. Initiatives like the Godhan NYAY Yojana, which have positively impacted small-scale industries, rural employment, and the state’s economy, were praised by Kharge.
Kharge also highlighted the transformative effect of direct benefit transfer (DBT) schemes in Chhattisgarh, where over Rs. 1.75 lakh crore has been transferred to people through various state government schemes over the past five years. This significant financial support has lifted more than 40 lakh individuals out of poverty in the state.
In his address, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel affirmed his government’s commitment to following the path of truth, as advocated by leaders like Baba Guru Ghasidas and Mahatma Gandhi. He recognized the historical commitment of leaders from Jawaharlal Nehru to Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, P. V. Narasimha Rao, and Manmohan Singh in strengthening India and its overall development. Baghel affirmed that his government continues this path, tirelessly working to enhance the lives of Chhattisgarh’s people and drive the state’s comprehensive development.
Chief Minister also highlighted the state government’s efforts to support tribal communities in remote forest areas, facilitating the buying and selling of minor forest produce, benefiting 12.50 lakh collectors. He mentioned the various measures taken for farmers, landless laborers, and the promise of free education in English medium. The government’s prudent financial management ensures public funds are appropriately utilized for the benefit of the people, aligning with public interests.
At the ‘Bharose Ka Sammelan,’ Leader of Opposition Rajya Sabha, MP Mallikarjun Kharge, and Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel visited government department stalls, interacted with beneficiaries, and distributed financial aid. Various assistive devices and cheques totaling Rs 9 crore 8 lakh 35 thousand were distributed to 3088 beneficiaries under various government schemes. An exhibition showcased the achievements and schemes of various departments.
Deputy Chief Minister TS Singh Deo, Higher Education Minister Umesh Patel, and MP Deepak Baij also spoke at the event, emphasizing the government’s efforts to benefit various sections of society. Prominent political figures and public representatives were present at the gathering.
