Chhattisgarh: Swacchta Didis to recieve increased honourarium

Raipur: Chhattisgarh government has officially sanctioned an increased honorarium for sanitation workers, known as Swachhata Didis, who are actively involved in the Mission Clean City Scheme within Municipal Corporations, Municipalities, and Nagar Panchayats. This decision will follow Chief Minister Baghel’s announcement made on August 15, 2023, Independence Day and will take effect from September 2023.

The state government has allocated a substantial sum of Rs 79.76 crore. This allocation is intended to support 9232 workers for the forthcoming year, spanning from October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024, with each worker receiving Rs 7200 as part of their honorarium.

The Urban Administration and Development Department has issued an official order to implement this decision. Moreover, the UAD Department has urged urban bodies to promptly take necessary actions to secure the remaining funds required to fulfil their financial obligations for the fiscal year 2023-24, particularly with regard to octroi compensation items.
