Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Elections: Nomination Process Commences for First Phase
Raipur: In Chhattisgarh, the notification for the first phase of the legislative assembly elections was issued on Friday, marking the commencement of the nomination process. Surprisingly, no candidate filed their nomination papers for the initial 20 Assembly seats on the first day. The first phase of nominations includes 20 Assembly constituencies, including 12 from the Bastar division, in addition to Rajnandgaon, Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki, Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai, and Kabirdham districts.
It’s important to note that general elections in the state are being conducted in two phases. For the first phase, candidates can submit their nominations until October 20. On October 21, the scrutiny of nomination papers will be carried out, and candidates will have the option to withdraw their names by October 23. The first phase of voting is scheduled for November 7, with vote counting for both phases set for December 3.
During the first phase, voting will occur in constituencies that include Kanker, Bijapur, Dantewada, Chitrakote, Jagdalpur, Bastar, Narayanpur, Konta, Keskal, Kanker, Bhanupratappur, Antagarh, Mohla-Manpur, Khujji, Dongargarh, Rajnandgaon, Dongargarh, Khairagarh, Kawardha, and Pandariya assembly constituencies.
