Chhattisgarh Education Minister Resigns, Cabinet Reshuffle Expected

Chhattisgarh Education Minister Premsai Singh Tekam has resigned and Mohan Markam, who got removed from the post of State Congress Committee President, is set to be included in the cabinet. Mohan Markam will take the oath tomorrow, and Dhanendra Sahu may get an appointment as a minister. There are speculations about another leader, Satyanarayan Sharma, potentially being made a minister.
Premsai Singh Tekam stated that his resignation was at the behest of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, who decided on cabinet placements. Tekam mentioned receiving instructions from the All India Congress Committee (AICC) to resign. Chief Minister Baghel justified the reshuffle, citing the rotation of responsibilities within the organisation. He explained that Mohan Markam’s term had ended, and there was a decision to allocate 50% of the available seats to individuals below 50 years.
The appointment of TS Singhdeo as Deputy Chief Minister and Mohan Markam as State President was decided in a meeting held in Delhi.
Dhanendra Sahu, an experienced Congress leader and MLA from the Abhanpur assembly seat, has won it five times. He has previously held the position of Congress State President and served as a Minister of State for various departments.
