Chhattisgarh Cabinet Amends Civil Services Examination Rules

Raipur: In a significant Cabinet Meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, several crucial decisions were made to benefit the people of Chhattisgarh across various sectors. Here are the highlights of the key decisions:

1. The Cabinet approved the provision of houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) to all 6,99,439 eligible families remaining in the permanent waiting list. This move aligns with the commitment to providing shelter to homeless families.

2. To benefit youth preparing for civil services, amendments in Chhattisgarh State Services Examination Rules, 2008, were approved. This includes providing online access to results and cutoff scores, along with a change in the weightage of interview or personality tests.

3. Under the Godhan Nyay Yojana, self-help groups and primary cooperative societies associated with Gauthans will receive a bonus amount for compost sales, totaling Rs 12.32 crores for self-help groups and Rs 13.55 lakh for primary cooperative societies.

4. The creation of the post of Chief Engineer in the State Dam Safety Organization was approved under the Dam Safety Act, 2021.

5. Cabinet decisions included waiving off fixed premium/land rent for Bharat Scout Guide Jila Sangh, Raipur, and providing exemptions for Chhattisgarh Nishad Kevat Samaj and Shrimati Suryamukhi Devi Rajgami Sampada Samiti for educational and social projects.

6. A draft amendment in the explanation of part-one of the second schedule under Chhattisgarh Motor Vehicle Taxation Act, 1991, was approved.

7. The Cabinet decided to increase the coefficient from 2.57 to 2.67 for fixing cells in the corresponding level 15 in the pay matrix of grade pay 8700 under Chhattisgarh Pay Revision Rules, 2017.

8. The eligibility criteria for plots developed in Serikhedi Raipur, a special housing scheme for officers and employees, were revised to include officer-employees of the judicial service category and others.

9. An amendment proposal for the supply system of country/foreign liquor in sealed bottles for the remaining period of the year 2023-24 was approved.

10. Exemptions in prescribed criteria for the formation of Nagar Panchayat Kosir, Nagar Panchayat Jarhagaon, and the upgradation of Nagar Panchayat Mana-Camp to a municipality were approved, as announced by the Chief Minister. Additionally, industrial units established in industrial areas developed by the Industries Department in urban areas will receive exemption from property tax.

These decisions reflect the government’s commitment to addressing the housing needs of its citizens, supporting youth in civil service aspirations, and promoting various sectors for the overall development of Chhattisgarh.
