CBI Raids Two Locations in Korba, Chhattisgarh

Raipur
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted raids at two locations in Korba, Chhattisgarh. The operation targeted the residence and office of a labour leader and a businessman. Officials are investigating properties and documents following allegations of irregularities in the compensation distribution by South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL).
According to sources, Shyamu (Khushal) Jaiswal, the district president of INTUC and a resident of Hardi Bazaar, is under investigation. The CBI team arrived at his residence at 6 AM. Simultaneously, another raid was carried out at the residence and office of businessman Rajesh Jaiswal, located on Katghora Road in Dipka.
The CBI initiated the investigation after receiving complaints of irregularities in SECL’s compensation distribution. Both individuals are accused of fraudulently claiming compensation and facilitating the same for others.
Reports suggest that compensation meant for those affected by SECL mining activities was improperly distributed. While some eligible families did not receive appropriate compensation, ineligible individuals allegedly benefited from the scheme.
The CBI has not released an official statement regarding the matter. Details will emerge as the investigation progresses.
