Bodoland Territorial Committee Members Applaud Chhattisgarh’s Rural Industrial Park Model
Raipur: Members of the Bodoland Territorial Committee (BTC), on a one-day study tour in Chhattisgarh yesterday, expressed admiration for the Rural Industrial Park (RIPA) initiative. The BTC delegation visited RIPA facilities in Raipur district and lauded its impact on the local economy and employment opportunities.
During discussions with Chief Minister’s Advisor Pradeep Sharma, the BTC members explored potential adoption of the RIPA model in Bodoland to boost rural skill development and livelihoods. He shared insights about Chhattisgarh’s Narva Garuva Ghurva and Bari programme, emphasizing the state’s commitment to rural economic strengthening. The state government has established 300 RIPAs in just a year, supporting over 11,000 individuals through various enterprises. He further extended the government’s support to Assam in implementing the RIPA model.
Present during the discussions were BTC Vice Chairman Ajay Singh, Deputy Head Dr. K.K. Subramaniam, and other officials from both BTC and Chhattisgarh’s State Planning Commission.
The BTC delegation acknowledged the potential of RIPA to empower local communities and enhance rural economies, signaling possible advancements in Bodoland’s development strategy.
