BJYM stages gherao of CM House in protest against alleged CGPSC scam
Raipur
Raising questions on the selection of candidates through the CGPSC examination 2021, the Bharatiya Janata YuvaMorcha (BJYM) on Monday launched a campaign named PSC Sangram in the capital Raipur. BJYM National President Tejasvi Surya led the BJYM workers, including state president Ravi Bhagat, who staged the gherao at the Chief Minister’s residence along with thousands of workers from the youth wing and BJP.
Tejaswi Surya said if the BJP government is formed in the state in 2023, then the CBI will investigate the CG-PSC recruitment ‘scam’. Former Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh said that Congress should look at these youths who have braved the scorching sun to get justice. This is a message for this government, he said.
In the meeting organised near Sapre School, all the senior members of the BJP appeared: BJP President Arun Sao, leader of the opposition Narayan Chandel, Tejashwi Surya, and Dr. Raman Singh were present, and they addressed the members of BJYM.
Arun Sao said, “This fight is not for votes, not for power. This fight is about the future of youth, self-respect, the dreams of lakhs of parents, and Chhattisgarh’s self-respect and respect for youth. Congress is against all these, he said.
Narayan Chandel described the youth of the state as soldiers who should contribute to this movement. Congress has done the work of looting the youth.
Former MP Ramvichar Netam said, breaking all decorum, that the Congress has played with the youth and their future. The people of Chhattisgarh will never forgive them.
Tejasvi Surya said that he has visited every state, and transparency is followed in the selection of candidates everywhere.
“But looking at the way PSC selection has been going on in Chhattisgarh for the last 3 to 4 years, I can say with great confidence and seriousness that the scam that happened in Chhattisgarh is one of the biggest scams,” he said. Surya promised that if next time the Bharatiya Janata Party government is formed in Chhattisgarh, it will work on seven points, and the BJP government will take action on all seven points on the first day itself.
Breaking the barricade near the Tejashwi Surya Public Relations Office, all the protesters proceeded towards the CM House.
Many times, there is a clash of dates in the UPSC and PSC exams. After the BJP forms the government, they will prepare such a calendar so that the participants can easily participate in both the UPSC and PSC exams.
After the result of the CG-PSC State Service Exam of the year 2021, the matter got heated, with the BJP pointing fingers towards the transparency of the process. The BJP accused the PSC chairman, Taman Sonwani, of favouring his kin and facilitating the kin of other officials and ministers to find a place on the merit list. The PSC result was declared in March 2023.
