Bilaspur Takes a Stand Against Drug Addiction with World Cycle Day Rally.

Bilaspur witnessed a public awareness cycle rally on World Cycle Day, organized by the Harihar Oxygen Committee and Nizat Abhiyan of Bilaspur Police. The event, centered around the theme “War Against Drugs” (Nasheele Padhartho Ko Na, Zindagi Ko Yes), commenced in front of 36 Mall.
ADN Vajpayee, the Vice Chancellor of Atal Bihari University, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his speech, he expressed concern about the increasing drug addiction among the youth. He emphasized the need to prevent them from falling into the trap of drug abuse. He urged everyone to make the Nijat awareness campaign a significant step in this direction, ensuring that Chhattisgarh remains peaceful and progressive.
Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar Singh, the special guest, expressed his happiness about organizing the Nijat public awareness rally alongside the Harihar Oxygen Plantation Campaign. He highlighted the benefits of cycling as an affordable means of transportation accessible to all sections of society. He also emphasized the positive impact of cycling on mental well-being, especially during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Bhuvan Verma, the convenor of Harihar Oxygen, mentioned their commendable work in combating global warming and preserving the environment through regular service. Dr Shankar Yadav, the co-convenor, emphasized the importance of spreading the anti-drug addiction campaign to the masses.
The rally received substantial support from various institutions and organizations, including Dr CV Raman University Kota, Atal University Bilaspur, Bilaspur Police Administration, City Mall 36, Aashirwad Eye Hospital, Mount Litera Ji School, Dr KK Saw Hospital, and BTRC Multi Specialist Hospital. Sports associations also made significant contributions to the event.
The guest list included ADN Vajpayee (Vice Chancellor Atal University), Santosh Singh (Superintendent of Police Bilaspur), Gaurav Shukla (Registrar CV Raman), Dr LC Madaria, Dr KK Sau, Dr Sanjana Tiwari, Praveen Jha, Dr Shashikant Sahu, Rahul Dev Sharma (Additional Superintendent of Police), Prashant Rai, CSP Civil Line Sandeep Patel, CSP Pooja Kumar, Aman Jha Trainee IPS, and Gaurav Singh DSP. The program was coordinated by Bhuvan Verma, with Dr Shankar Yadav serving as the co-convenor.
The public awareness campaign concluded with a meeting and felicitation ceremony behind River View Chowpatty Sims. Talented sports players associated with the sports world were honoured during the closing ceremony. Harihar Oxygen has been organizing public awareness rallies on various themes on World Cycle Day for the past five years.
