Raipur: The state government is ensuring quality health services in forest zones and remote areas. Jagdalpur District Hospital, Balrampur District Hospital, and Kartala Community Health Center in Korba district, located in remote areas of the state, were awarded various quality certificates by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for providing excellent health services and better treatment to patients.

The Government of India has issued Quality Assurance Certificates to Bastar District Hospital under the National Quality Assurance Standard, LaQshya, and MusQan programmes, whereas Balrampur District Hospital and Kartala Community Health Center were certified under the NQAS and LaQshya program.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister T.S. Singh Deo have congratulated the doctors and other medical staff of these three hospitals who have received the Certificate of Excellence for their dedicated health services. They have expressed hope that these hospitals will continue to maintain their excellence in serving patients and set new benchmarks for other hospitals in the state. Government hospitals located in remote forest zones receiving certificates under the National Quality Assurance Standard, LaQshya, and MusQan program is an indication that quality health facilities are reaching all areas in the state.

The Union Health Ministry team inspected these three hospitals between March and June this year to test the quality of services available to patients. The team also sought feedback from the patients in this regard. After the evaluation of the Bastar District Hospital, the team has provided quality assurance certificates under the NQAS to 12 departments, LaQshya for labor room and maternity OT services, and the MusQan program for the Pediatric department and SNCU.

The Ministry of Health has certified 12 departments of Balrampur District Hospital under NQAS and Labor Room and Maternity under the LaQshya program. Seven departments of Kartala Community Health Center have also been issued Quality certificates under NQAS, whereas the Labor Room and Maternity OT have been issued quality certificates under the LaQshya Program by the Government of India.

Meanwhile, the services and facilities of the hospital are tested on various parameters by a team of experts before certification under the National Quality Assurance Standards, LaQshya, and MusQan programs. These include parameters such as services available, patients’ rights, inputs, support services, clinical services, infection control, quality management, and outcomes. Only hospitals that meet these stringent standards are issued quality assurance certificates by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
